Discontinied Deuce?
If you are happy with your bike, that's great, butwhy all of the defensiveness about it?
In a few years, you'll have something a little more rare, and that's good in my book.
That's the way I look at it I just bought a 2007 Standard, now I have one of the very last ones to ever be made. People will start to envy it more now that they can't buy them.
sorry but with the production numbers that have been used lately there is no way any of these bikes will ever be rare or collectable - it's kind of like the difference between a Honus Wagner rookie card and a Derek Jeter card - over production = saturation and will keep value and collectability in control
Sorry. But, I guess we'll have to agree, to disagree. I'm sure they had a nice run of numbers. But, I just don't see 'em on the road that much. At least not in my neck of the woods. In time, if taken care of, most things become collectable. Took the Deuce out today. Its a great ride!

Mine might be going on the selling block.
I can't keep 2 bikes so the DEUCE will have to go.
Will keep you posted on my decision, but I would say, she will probably be up for sale shortly.
It is a shame that the Road King Custom is going as well. I was thinking that would be my next bike.
My point was with the forward controls and the dealers steering guys that way - I guess I don't see where I treated this as any kind of personal insult nor did I see my comments as defensive. George you have always had nice things to say on here and have IMO been a friend of the Deuce riders but I have to say my friend you missed the boat regarding any point I was making.
You know how points can get screwed upwith internet conversation. Let's get ourpoints cleared up.
I'm not insulting, and I know you are not insulted Buzz, but it seems that some riders, especially some WideGlide riders are offended everytime this subject comes up. I was just trying to make this point by replying to your post. Probably a bad spot to make my point I guess..
Models change and will always change. Owning a discontinued model is pretty cool to me, especially something that's different like your model.
I'm not saying the Deuce will ever become a collectors item, but if I owned one right now, I would certainly hang on to it.
In a few years, everybody will be looking at the Deuce and saying what a cool bike it was.
Funny, I went to an annual Harley gathering benefiting the restoration of the century old Hollywood theatrein nearby Gowanda, NY called the Hollywood Happening. Lots of bikes....
I got more enjoyment at looking at some of the previous HD models that anything late model.
Some of the original FX Springers with the funky front fender were there,a Bad Boy, aDisc Glideand a bunch of Shovels..
Lots of choppers, butthe chopsdidn't seem to draw as much interest as the older HD models and the beat up old bobbers.
My point is for anyone involved to take pride and don't be insulted byyour model being discontinued.
Even though Harley's hold there resale value very well, I wouldn't be surprised if the 2007's that are going out of production hold there value even a little better.
