It was a very nice day here in Western Washington. So, I stopped by one of the local HD dealers, to look and waste some time. One the way in the door, one of the sales man was showing a customer a new Deuce parked outside. I over heard him say, as I wlked by. "This is the model their discontinuing next year". So, any truth, or rumors to this? Is 2007 the last year for the Deuce?
yes as of right now the deuce is the only bike confirmed from Harley to be discontinued for the 08 year. Rumors flying around that the soft tail standard will be also, but it isn't confirmed. Just the deuce.
if u checkout the 2008 model color chart u will see that all the models that are rumored to be discontinued in 2008 are not on the color chart, therefore i would imagine the rumor to be true.
Here is a link to the color chart, also thereis a letter to dealers somewhere on this site that explains all the models they are dropping (I can't find it now). Some of them will be dropped after the first tier shipments, which were already ordered by dealers.
I think they should keep the deuce put a diffrent tank on it, and drop the vrod.
Wow, ok. I guess the dealer was right. Shame thou. I don't know about dropping the V Rod?! I think sales are good with it. I think the Deuce was, and is a good looking bike. Seemed to me to have more updated lines, and a cleaner looks than the more "traditional" models that Harley offered. All the more reason to keep mine now...collector item

The Softail Standard, Springer Classic, Softail Deuce, the Street Rod, the Wide Glide, the Road King Custom and the Sportster 883R."
