Just got the analog temp gauge dipstick, and I am trying to find out if my bike is operating at a safe temp.
I rode the bike about 100 miles today and yesterday. All morning the bike ran about 200 degrees. The temps were probably mid to low 70s. I am in Dallas/Fort Worth. This afternoon the temps were 85-90 degrees and the bike was at 220 degrees.
How does this sound?
The bikeis a 2006 Fatboy witha PCIII& custom map and I am running Amsoil 20w50. As far as I know there is nothing I can do to make it run cooler, especially in Texas heat. Just want to make sure I am in the safe zone.
Ive heard the '06 runs a bit warmer..
I have an '05 and its always 200-220 ifthe engineswarmed upalmost reguardless of weather
If its really hot it may get near 230
This is with synthetic (ive heard thatll cool it down a little)
Sounds like your ok. I read an article recently talking about the excessive temps riders are experiencing on the new motor. Gave some data on the TC 88 as comparison.
