I recently purchased a very used 2005 Heritage Soft Tail Classic. I am going completely through the bike. Here is my questions: first, did they offer ABS on Heritage in 2005? Second, I found a electric wire from the back of the brake caliper but it is not connect to anything, weird! Third, can you use ABS calipers as a standard caliper.
I haven't seen this before and with a bit of research the only bike I found in 2005 with ABS was FLH police bikes.
Trying to make sure this bike is safe. Any help, opinion, comment, or argument would be appreciated. Hope to build this back to a safe ride for my wife.
Thanks, Dave
No ABS on '05s that I have heard of.
That wire could be from some LEDs that were on and then removed.
I wouldn't think an ABS caliper would work properly as a non-ABS caliper. Calipers can be had on eBay.
Do you have a factory service manual for it?

Just got service manual ordered yesterday. The led lights sounds possible, hadn't thought of that. Appreciate the help!
That is a a beautiful bike! What is that color called?

QC, you were right on the money. Old bike had 10 LEDs all over the place, half broken, wires cut, under seat looked like spaghetti. Thanks again for your help.
