Default Engine Oil usage

Just 2 - 3 weeks ago took my softail Fatboy out of winter storage w a fresh 3 quarts of oil.
After just over 2k miles (missed riding and rode a lot)
bike was done to 'FILL' line on dip stick.
Put 1/2 quart back in and that seemed to bring oil depot back to full.
Use synthetic oil.
Asked the dealership if I should run a compression test; they said not to (save your $$).
Harleys threshold is about a quart for every 1000 miles on air cooled engines.
My question is ; should bike be using up that amount of oil- about 1/2 quart after 2,000 miles?
Thanks

A quart per 1000 is pretty standard with most motor manufacturers, Porsche is even higher...theres nothing wrong with your motor!

How fast we're you generally riding? On my bike, just riding around town at 60 or less it uses no oil. If I get out in the highway, like on a major trip, and run 65-75 it will use about a quarter of a quart(+-) over about 1k-2k mikes or so. That's pretty normal.

1/2 a quart in two thousand miles is actually pretty darn good!

Again
id like to thank everyone.
Thanks for the feedback.
As far as my riding, haven't done much highway riding.
Prefer winding roads.
Actually oil usage could be bc I keep my revs close or over 3k.
These bikes red line around 5k.
Hardly ever use 6th gear; you feel a disconnect w the motor bc it's so smooth in 6th.
Im gonna keep an eye on my dip stick .
I'll be happy w 1/2 quart usage every 2k miles.
Again Thanks Everyone

3000 rpms is cruising speed, dont be afraid to rev a Harley motor...lugging it, below 2800, will take out your bottom end!

I guess I am a lucky one, never need to add oil between 5000 mile services.
