Default stage 1 a/c question

I know asking 10 people you will get 11 different opinions, but I'm a glutton for punishment, so here goes. I am planning to install a stage 1 a/c and PCV on my 07 heritage. Does this mod require a crankcase breather?

It will depend on which A/C you use.

Unless you use some oddball turd of a filter that wasnt designed by someone that actually knows Harleys...the air filter IS the crank case breather!

^^^^^^^Listen to this guy. He knows everything that there is to know on the entire planet that has anything to deal with a HD. That's why he believes he needs to correct any and all posts in such a bold font. Most of his posts are duplicate answers from another thread and he has absolutely no sense of humor at all

If you would quit giving incorrect information....I wouldnt have to correct YOU!

I use bold type (always have) because its easier to read

and I have a great sense of humor, just no tolerance for dipshits that dont know what they are talking about and give bad advice to those seeking help!

There are huge variances between Stage I A/C's, and huge differences in the benefits they provide.

If you purchase an air cleaner that does Not have and External Breather System, we recommend you modify it to add one. Pushing that Hot, Oily, Oxygen depleted air back into your a/c is only going to degrade your performance, cause accelerated wear on the engine, and create an unstable tune environment.

Here is a LINK on a report on why an EBS is beneficial.

Here is a LINK to a ton of Air Cleaner Systems that have EBS as part of the package.

Some will incorporate the OEM CCV system into their A/C ... others will not.

Your choice...

I prefer to vent crank case gases to the atmosphere, rather than back into my intake.

I had an SE A/C that incorporated the OEM breathers... I modified it to have an external CCV....

Either way is not hard to do, just know which style A/C you are buying...

Good Luck
