that what I did. $3 bucks for husky 1/4 drive 9/16". gotta play with the aux lamps now. they do aim a little higher than the headlight when shined on a wall. i gotta go out at night quick and see how they shine.

I mounted mine backwards to clear my lights on my 2015 CVO Deluxe. They wouldn't go on otherwise. Yes, outside the windshield is how I went with mine and I also made the holes into slots in opposite directions with a Dremel tool. That way they are quick disconnect by just loosening the bolts instead of removing them. I like to strip my bike back down when I get to a far off destination so the tour pack, windshield, pillion and fangs all come off in a minute and into the motel room. That way I have a street cruiser for rallys and a somewhat tourer for the long hauls.
