Hey guys Im looking to upgrade my 2017 seat whats the best to keep the same look but comfortable fro a 5'10 275 guy
Thanks!
Have the after market seat guys caught up with the '17 models yet? That would be my concern. I've always been partial to C&C seats. Tried Mustangs, La Pera, but was never comfortable enough for me.
I just custom ordered a Le Pera Bare Bones for my '17 Slim. Personally, I like the stock seat, but I wanted leather, and I wanted to expose a little more of the frame. I also wanted the stitching to mimic the stock seat as closely as possible.
But if you're mainly looking for comfort, the Bare Bones probably isn't for you.
I got a heritage stock seat an it was ok but I hated the look, the Mustang day tripper was more comfortable than stock to me but not great...I also found a deal on a stock blackline seat...it's ok but it doesn't hold you in place like the Mustang an the passenger part feels like a 2x4 with a little foam over it. I'm thinking I might get the blackline seat re-done with memory foam an a little more padding on the transition to the pass area to help hold me when I crank the throttle. For what I spent on the Mustang an Blackline seats I could have gotten a Corbin an probably be happier.
Send your seat to mean city cycles and have them rebuild it. I have one enroute to them and I can't wait to try it. They have a great reputation. It costs $175 for a double decker rebuild.
Personally, I've had my Corbin seat for around 10 years or so and it's been great for me. From reading many threads on this subject, I think I remember Mustang seats being mentioned a lot, good luck.
