Default New to bikes and need help

Hi all, I dont really know to much about motorcycle besides I like riding one lol. I have an 03 Night Train that I bought not to long ago and I added V&H short shots and Arlen Ness Monster Sucker and was wondering if I should get a tuner? Before everyone freaks out on me, yes I did do some research on here about it and of course I seen every diff answer poss and they were on all diff kinds of bikes too. Does it matter the bike? I know that its running hot as now I can smell somthing and only way I can describe it is just hot fluid ( sry for my ignorance on the wording ) also when I took out oil dipstick looked as if the oil was bubbling, is that normal? Now I also here a little popping on deceleration or when rpm's are up and I just let off, its not a lot but I had absolutely none before this. I was thinking of getting Power Vison as I plan on doing more mods dwn the road.
Any feedback is highly appreciated, thanks!!

With those mods you'll want to add a stage one map. Decel popping is a pain in the *** but not usually a problem but it can be tuned out. Yes get a tuner if you plan more mods. It will pay for itself in the long run. Check the oil temp there is a temp it shouldn't exceed that might answer the bubbling question. I've never noticed my oil bubbling.

Yes on the tuner, the oil, that is probably a bit of foaming from the return line to the tank.

You should not be riding that bike with an open air cleaner and exhaust without a tune. You are running VERY lean, and you’re risking damage, not to mention leaving a whole lot of performance and rideability on the table. Get a tuner ASAP. Powervision is an excellent route to go if thats what you choose. Check out www.fuelmotousa.com, Great bunch of people, and you get lifetime map support with your purchase.

+1 to all the above - and btw oil that hot also makes me wonder if it's circulating properly. When tensioners break down, that plastic(nylon) junk can get clog up the oil pump....make sure you check your cam chain tensioners periodically (in case you didn't know).

Thanks all for your replies, I just ordered Power Vision from Fuel Moto and they informed my that they have a map for what I got. @Bob Im not real familiar with tensioners ans Ill have to take a look, thanks. I just hit 14k miles on this bike, is that something that usually doesnt last long? Again, thanks everyone for your input and for not being a bunch of smarta**es like I've gotten before lol

YouTube has info on the tensioners, it will give you the basics of what Bob073 is talking about. At 14k you should be good if it has had regular service, and not ran excessively hard.
