Default Windscreen height size??

Guys, looking to buy a detachable windscreen. I'm 5'6 and have an 07 Deluxe. How tall of a windscreen would you recommend, the standard or the low??

Since you didn't specify the height of the standard or low, I would buy the standard. If it is too high you can cut it down. If the low is too low you're SOL.

Both will look like a windshield so get the standard. I am guessing you want protection. While any windshield will reduce wind affects, you'll have less noise and less buffeting with more. Other factors: seat height, helmet style, bars.

You should be able to look over your windshield, not through it. A good judge of height is the top of the windshield should be about the same as the tip of your nose, while sitting comfortably on the bike.

+1 on freedomRider's advice, I am 5'5 2016 Deluxe, I have the standard size and the top comes to the tip of my nose, I have no helmet buffet at any speed. If you do highway riding you will probably just keep it on the bike. Mine only comes off for cleaning/maintenance.

Your dealer might have demo windshields with the measurements marked out on it. That way you can hold it up over the headlight as see what height you want.

Click on the link below and it will take you to our product page for your bike. A post above recommended sizing so that you look two inches above the shield. That is the best sizing for our shields. https://longrideshields.com/collecti...fatboy-softail

I have a 16" LRS recurve on my nostalgic HD windshield frame. Love it. See over it easily wirh no buffeting. Look for great specials at LRS from time to time.
