Default Engine pinging/spark knock. High compression.

Hey guys need some help. I did a rebuild on my 88ci and have about 10.7:1 compression with 585 cams. After I had a bad ping. Jets were 48 pilot and 190 main it's alot better now that I'm at 42 pilot and 185 main. Any advise. Also running 93 octane with octane boost.

Increasing fuel helps but you may have to pull back the timing a few degrees

Compression is a bit high. You're going to need a very good tuner or you'll need to lower the comp a bit. If you're using a .030 head gasket, moving to a .040 should put you into a safer range.

Should be able to run that easy.. What are the ignition settings.

Stock ignition I think I got it figured out I have a 42 pilot and a 170 main
