Cooling questions..
Alright guys, I am sure this has been beat to death.. But which would be better to invest in, an oil cooler or a head fan? For what ever reason I am really paranoid about over heating in the 90+ south Carolina weather. I have read tons of things about both, but would you rather have cool oil or cool heads while sitting in traffic?

Cool oil for me. You have to remember that they've been building Harleys for almost 115 years now and about 95% of the bikes have never had either an oil cooler or a fan mounted on them and so far they've all managed to keep on running without a real need for either.

If your biggest concern is heat from being stuck in traffic on a hot and windless day, you'll want something with a fan to provide air flow, whether the fan is on the heads or the oil cooler.

I have both an oil cooler and Love Jug cooling fans on my 2010 103 EG Limited.
I ran quite a few miles during Florida's hot summers with just an oil cooler, the Love Jugs weren't installed until may be 2013. The Love Jug cooling fans really do the job of cooling the motor and making the ride a lot more comfortable for me while stopped at lights or in stop and go traffic. If I had to pick which one, or which one I was going to install first do to a limited budget, I'd pick to install the Love Jug cooling fans hands down the best mod I did to my bike.

If the heat from the rear cylinder and oil tank bother you in our crotch cooler will certainly do the job.. Your bike will be fine in 90 degree temps nothing to be paranoid about .. Go enjoy the ride ..

I have one, the EITMS kicks in and it's still pretty toasty sitting at the lights. The CC definitely saves the skin under my thigh but some more heat dissipation out the sides instead of up my **** would be welcome.

I got my wife a Captain Itch crotch cooler and she swears by it. It also looks kinda cool, with the flamed one.

Agreed. Bought one of these for my 2016 Heritage and I am SO SO SO glad I did. Make riding SO much different. I ride to/from work, it's only a few miles. But I get stuck as a couple of "take forever" lights. I'm in Dallas, temps are running about 98 degrees right now. The crotch cooler has made ALL the difference. On my long rides, too, it just deflects so much of the heat. I would recommend these to anyone as a first choice in keeping the heat away.

I have the CROTCH COOLER which takes a lot of heat off.....then the WARDS fan which also takes a lot of heat off in stop and go........was thinking about a FAN assisted oil cooler but at this point I don't really need it as those two do it all.
According to head temps showing on my Powervision
BUT if I were going to an oil cooler I'd get the FAN assisted, so that it's cooling the oil while in stop and go........NON fan assisted are only good at speed IMHO.
