You talking about the kind that fills the rear fender? If so, there are at least a dozen different maker's of this light. Check J&P cycles, Drag Specialties, Eastern, Custom Chrome, etc. I used one for a 99' softail on my 05' Standard - just had to trim the brackets a little. They're pretty common though, so shouldn't be too hard to find.
I believe that Joker machine also makes one for the older modles as well as for the new wider fenders. But they ain't cheap, better look through the other places that skips69 mentioned first.
I see a lot for 1999 or earlier, but I know that people have had to trim the brackets to fit. What about the wiring? Was it just splice and ready to go? Thanks
Go to www.jpcycles.com and look up part #340-006. That's what I,m running on my 05.Simple plug and play and requires no modifying. Part #340-089 is the same light just with a red lense.Don't let the pic on the website mislead you,my friend is running that light on his 05 softail.
Yeah, the one I ended up buying was for models up to 99' and I had to trim the brackets and cut and solder the wiring. For $80.00 though, I thought it was a nice upgrade and worth the time and money.
I followed Darkside's link, but this is not the tail light I was talking about. The one I installed is similiar topart# 3400350 - it's $60.00 now. The license plate bracket looks the same, but the side brackets look different in the photo. There are so many different maker's of these though, so who knows.
Lot's of choices, that's the fun of it. Good luck on your decision.
