Default Breakout Vs CVO Breakout Pro Street

I'm currently driving a SGS and finding it a bit on the heavy side. My missus hates it and wont even sit on the bike let alone drive it.

I'm leaning towards trading it in for something a little more fun and naked. The Breakout has caught my eye and using the SGS as a trade in I could get the standard Breakout next Spring or wait a year and get the CVO Breakout the following year (providing its still manufactured)

Can anyone tell me apart from the obvious cosmetic differences and displacement size what are the difference between the two ???

Aside from the engine size, it's mostly cosmetic. I can say if the misses hates the sgs, I can't imagine her liking the back of either breakout. It does it's best as a solo rider. I'd consider a heritage if passenger comfort is a thing. My wife hates climbing onto my road glide (she's all of 5ft tall), but after two years of struggling to get the breakout comfortable, she's happy to have the bigger bike. Now some women hate the baggers just because of the looks and if that's your woman, maybe she'd be willing to suck up the discomfort of a breakout.

I highly recommend you ride with her on the sgs to the dealer, rest ride both with her on it, then ride home. She'll know by then.

She hates driving the SGS

We both ride solo, she has a BMW R Nine T and we occasionally swap.

OH! So the only thing she MAY not like is the seat height depending on her inseam. The reason I say this is while it sits low, the wide tire adds width to her stance and I recall some people here saying their women found that harder to manage. A slim would also be a good consideration if this turns out to be an issue for her. I haven't ridden a prostreet, but the changes made in its seat and the handlebars might be a bit more comfortable for her overall. I wouldn't spend the extra loot on the prostreet personally because I don't like the smaller front wheel, but it just depends on the style you are shooting for.

Does the standard Breakout have the slipper clutch ? I know the Pro Street does. Is there any other models in the line up with one ?

There are some pretty big differences between the Breakout and the Pro Street, try riding both and youll find the pro street much more comfortable for the driver. Pro Street has inverted forks, a different seat, cruise control, and dual front disks along with the more publicized 110 engine, cowls, and custom paint in limited production. I've been told 17 is the last CVO Pro Street Breakout, CVO will move on to a different model for 18. You never know, sales numbers may dictate a different strategy.

My dealer told me Dyna and Softail are getting Milwaukee 8 in the 4th quarter of 2018 - get the CVO it's way better and more comfortable plus you could upgrade to 117ci.
