2017 Hertiage VS 2017 SLIM S, would there be much difference considering the ride only? I can see the difference in the bike cosmetically and 103 VS 110, but are they similar ride / handling wise?
Thanks for the replies, one last thing I wanted to ask and forgot to in the original post was on the 2018 color chart it does not lift the softail slim S, if it turns out they discontinue will that make that model less attractive or more attractive?
Slim has less rear shock travel =rougher ride, especially two up plus seat isn't very comfortable. Your last post, probably less, if someone wanted to buy that particular model, they probably already did.
I test rode both the 2016 Heritage Softail Classic and Slim S before deciding. The Heritage felt bigger to me, probably due to the seat, bags, windshield and lights. The Slim S rode similar to the Heritage but what sold me on the Slim S was the zip when hitting the throttle. I came from a 2006 XL1200C so both bikes were a major improvement in the ride department.
I have a 2012 slim and had a 2014 Heritage. They're vastly different. With a stock setup the heritage is much more comfortable. The slim is a bit more nimble but rides harsh.
It all depends on what you want. I'm trading the slim back in on a heritage because I think the slim is extremely uncomfortable. The heritage is more suitable for two up riding as well.
I had a 13 Slim. Kept it about a year and was never comfortable on that bike. Road rough as all get out and the bars were all wrong. I was considering a set of Heritage bars but before I got around to doing that I road a Heritage.
The Heritage suited me much better, was tons more comfortable and the old lady liked riding two up on it. Two completely different bikes. I probably could have changed a couple things, handlebars, rear fender and a few other less obvious things and would have been happy.
I guess I would have ended up making a Heritage out of the Slim. I took a short cut!
Does anyone know if I could change the struts on my 2017 Slim to Struts from one of the other Softails?
I'm trying to put hard stretched bags and rear fender on my Slim
