2018 Heritage Test Ride
I then test rode the Rust Primer 114 Heritage. Currently I own 2 Softails, 97 FXSTS and 99 FLSTS. Every time I see a pothole or manhole cover I "Brace" for impact, the loud sound of the frame bottoming out. On the 114, did not feel the bumps at all.
last year I purchased a 107 powered Ultra Limited, love the Milwaukee Eight. I have 1bout 5000 miles on that one and it is a game changer. The power delivery, comfort and smoothness is unbelievable. The other thing I noticed is the lack of valve and other engine noise, so it is still stock and I can hear the exhaust better than the 2013 I had with V&H headers and Monster Rounds. It also seems that I can "feel" the engine better.
This is now transpired to the Heritage, unbelievably smooth, fast and sounds great when you are on it. Hit 90 on interstate going up on ramp, and was not trying, just happened quick. And it wasn't until 90 that I started to feel any buffeting on the helmet. At first I thought the Windshield was too low (Sitting in Showroom) but I was wrong. I am 5`10" and it fit perfect. The seat was really comfortable as well. Unlike last years Heritage seat.
I too am old school and really wanted a new Heritage Softail with Chrome and Whitewalls, etc. But after riding this one I am sold. I am selling my 99 and 97 and Buying a new one.
One of the things the MOCO stressed and the Dealer Show was getting people to test ride. I think a lot of people will change their minds once they do.

I don't see any issue with the single rotor setup. The cost of the dual setup would have driven up the price of the bike.
I was told that prior to antilock the softails would be likely to have too muck brake with dual disks and lock up the front end.
I have a 17 limited that has duals and the 18 Deritage feels like it stops quicker.
