on is down, reserve is forward, off is rear

You also gotta see where the indentation is which means that's the business side :-) I made that mistake once or twice.

BTW - the correct answer for petcock is Pingel. Always Pingel.

Well, Mr. Norris, welcome to the forum from Texas.

I would encourage you, should you return to your thread, to go here and get yourself an Owner's Manual for your '96 Softail Custom. It will have information about your petcock and a whole lot more.

On all my carbd Harley's , on was down,off is middle and reserve is up.
