Ok guys....I finally got off the silly crotch rockets....and I sold the vette that I thought would keep me from another bike....didn't work! Got myself a sweet 92 Softail Custom with 12k!
But the question is about the fuel petcock. The word ON is on the lower portion...to run in ON does the lever point down (covering the ON) or does it point up? I don't want to think I'm in ON and wind up running out of fuel becasue I'm actually running in RESERVE.
(I know it says for sale.....but that's just for insurance purposes...if it's not part of my inventory I have to get a separate policy!)
Gas On- points down. Off points straight towards back of bike, Reserve straight towards the front of the bike. Least that's the way mine goes. Hope it helps. Nice looking bike!
Thank you. I was confused about what was considered 'up or down' but when you say 'forward' for off, I know you mean the physical lever. I have been riding around in reserve....thank god it never sputtered!
