good questions. i don't know what's wrong with me.. guess i'm not the type to buy something, put 3, 000 miles on it in 1 1/2 years, then trade it in on the next big thing. guess i take a little more pride in myself to hold onto something i worked hard for instead of just tossing it away, that's the problem with this country, to disposable . but hey, that's just me...

I disagree with others and believe that's a very fair deal. I paid nearly 24.5K OTD for my '18 Fat boy S. Actually I think it's a real good deal. It sure would be here in California.
Buy it and enjoy the heck out it!

Enough is enough, if someone wants to buy a new Bike & can swing it
more power to them, who on this forum is to say not too.

As far as looks goes, Harley has been modernizing their lineup senice
they came out with the M8 engine for 2017. Get use to it.

The new Softail frame is a step forward from the old frame, it's lighter,
handles better, plus has more ground clearance. What's not to like.

I have no more bark in this fight, I am going back to the Touring section.

I get a kick out of anybody trying to justify or make sense out of buying a new Harley. The fact is; it doesn't make sense. Nothing about spending over twenty grand on a motorcycle makes any sense at all.

Doesn't mean you should or shouldn't do it. Just come to grips with the fact that you buy it simply because you want it. Nothing else matters, nobody's opinion matters other than your own.

Personally, I completely understand why you would want to own a new 18 softail. It's simply a better more enjoyable motorcycle to ride. Why not spend your time in the saddle riding something that puts a smile on your face? If can afford it, and you want it. Go for it ( in my worthless opinion ).

Remember, people will give you advice based on there financial situation. Not putting anyone down but some will get negative just because they can't buy a new one. It's human nature.

Trust your instincts!

Taken from the HD web site under spec & pring line #6:
Harley-Davidson reimburses dealers for performing manufacturer-specified pre-delivery inspection and setup tasks. Dealer prices may vary.

Does this mean we shouldn't be asked to pay for the set up service if HD is reimbursing the dealer?
