My dad is in his 50s and my grand dad is in his 70s they are both buying 2018 fatboy lucky for me i could just borrow their bikes so i dont need to buy one !
...yup, that's how we all got hooked too....
At least you'll be able to hear it yourself finally...
I was preparing to buy a '17 Breakout but it was so close to the '18 launch that I waited until I could see the new model first. When I heard about the small tank, I wasn't happy and felt that might sway me toward the '17.
Then I got the call that they were unloading the first '18s off the truck and there was a Twisted Cherry Breakout 114 among them. I got down there quick, and when I saw it, I had to have it. I never let it hit the showroom floor.
Just yesterday I was at the dealer talking to some mechanics who never got to see it. They said "Wow, pictures don't do this bike justice. It's beautiful!"
The 3.5 gallon tank requires a little more discipline as opposed to having 1.5 more gallons to go between gas stations. But I'm used to it now. And I love the chopper look. And I really love having a chopper that handles like a sport bike, that I can lean way over and not worry, even when hitting bumps.
I can hardly wait until my tall-rider mods show up to make it custom just for me. (Move pegs out, apes, tall boy seat) And parts for Stage I & II (torque) are on order too.
I don't think I'd change the tank even if a bigger one became available. I get compliments everywhere I go. It's kinda old school. A Breakout isn't the most practical bike, anyway. (Though it's amazing how practical it actually is given how well it performs... Amazing!)

i hate the look of the 2018 fatboy the rea-end is to big i will keep my 2010 fatboy lo looks like a harley sounds like a harley roadking special looks sweet
Is this a great country or what. Everyone can own what they want. I ordered a18 Fatbob when I saw the first one roll of the truck at my dealership. My only wish is more color choices on the 114s, I like the look of denim paint but not the upkeep.
What upkeep on denim paint ? I seldom do anything to my black denim Blackline and it looks like new.
^^^yeah this.
My '09 black denim Fatbob looks like new with nothing but a few simple washes with warm soapy water a year. Easiest paint to maintain I've had in over 30 years riding.
Before buying any Harley with denim paint be sure to check that they make a Sharpie in that color.
Has not been my experience. It's a soft finish. Once stupidly scratched my tank to bare metal by catching my keys against it...within a few months the paint "healed" through a few washes. Undetectable today.
People who like to polish and shine and detail get bored with denim because it just messs it up.
