Smile Old men can change, the '18's

Couple weeks ago I was kinda shocked at the radical changes like many of us were. I had planned on an "18 Heritage M8 based on friends with baggers with the new motor. They were very impressed with the 107. Then the '18 softails were released, I was not happy. But nothing stays the same in life. So I went to a NE. Ohio dealer to see them. I was very impressed to say the least with the Fatboy and Fatbob. They are a true work of art !!! You don't know what to focus on next, just stunning, the internet pictures don't do them justice. The Heritage not so much, especially because it was parked next to a '17 two tone red heritage that made the primer red look unfinished, that will take some getting used to. Lowrider due in next week. Have owned HD's since 1973, this is just another change, but I'm impressed (never thought I'd say that) Just go see them, glad I did.

I checked out the 2018 Low Rider today and I really liked it. Like the Fat Boy, the primary does stick out such that your leg will be on it. But other than that, no problem.

I am not a big guy -- my inseam is 29" and I could flat-foot the Low Rider easily. It might have been ever so slightly less "low" than the Fat Boy.

So far the Fat Boy and the Low Rider are my favorite two 18s with maybe the Heritage right up there too.

Still want to see a Lowrider, but none have been shipped to any dealer yet in N. Ohio Think It may be my replacement for my Blackline.

Someone will have to come up with a full size tank for the Breakout. It is terribly out of proportion and too small to be useful.

were you going to buy a breakout this year?
i already know that the answer is no. So why are we crying about it?

Anyone that wants one will buy. They are nice bikes. Complaints of non-buyers are just that... complaints from from people whose opinions xont mran anything to hd.

Well scuze us for breathing.

I am not going to buy a Breakout this year and never was. But the 3.5 gallon tank is too small.

That's as in "Too Small!"

So someone must purchase a new breakout before they can voice an opinion on it?

Well then, post a pic of your new breakout, or keep your comments to yourself...

Most correct the 2 "fat" bikes are great looking and I'm sure great running machines. Also agree the back end on the Fat Boy is WAY TOO LARGE. I would very much like to see a customized pic of that bike with a truncated, smaller, stub-like rear fender and a single seat configuration.

I had a similar experience. First I was heartbroken...then I went and saw/rode them. I wound up with a Heritage and I could not be happier. I'm sure that Low Rider will be amazing. There are some styling aspects of the '17 and earlier Softails I'll miss, but overall I think they got enough right. Combine that with all the genuine improvements and I can't stop grinning.
