I broke my bike..Can anyone help ? Maybe you've had this issue before and can pass on some info. I left my ignition turned on and killed the battery, after 5 hours it was stone dead. Bought a new battery and it hasn't ran the same since. Acts like a cold nature carburetor bike but when it warms up it acts better somewhat. Sounds like an electrical miss. Changed the coil with no help. Any ideas ?
The fact that after 5 hours the battery was dead from full means something else was going out already, and it now plays up enforces that , maybe regulator/rectifier, or timing plate(Evo) , mate what year is your bike please ?
Do you have a voltmeter ?
I'm Australian some of these things might be called something else stateside.
like badcooky said, it's possible the constant five hour drain may have put a strain on a few electric sensors. Most likely the voltage reg.
Left my ignition on once for a few hours, but didn't experience any after ill factors. Still same batt and all.
Check for codes. Maybe have a tech do it. Might need a re flash. You never know.
Splatt do you know what he's running ? Evo, Twinkie Shovel ? you said error code so it's probably a fuel infected Twinky , I don't know his bike .
If it's a Shovel or early Evo you'd pick a condensor going out sorta thing but a fuel infected bike it'll be something else but still electrical (you'd think) that bike in his avatar looks like an early Twinky but fooked if I know if it's the bike he's talking about.

checked. And it a fueler, so no sesors. But it electrical still LOL, so fried points trying to start a dead bike?
Fried points it wouldn't run ,Do twinkies have condensors cause they can go intermittent ?
Or timing plate if it's a CDI , I'd say but still could be reg/rec or a bad earth. Do twinkies have a timing plate inside the nose cone , I've never worked on a Twinky see .
Replace parts till it runs good they're cheap parts.
Reg/rec try a multi meter for that.

If it ran flat after 5 hours it's already an electrical issue, intermittent is nearly always electrical , do Twinkies have an advance/retard plate inside the nose cone.
It's really late here in Straya so I'm not looking it up.
Bummer man but **** happens. My heart goes out to you since bikes are so important to us and I read your post feeling this really sucks big time. So, so sorry. GOOD LUCK!!!
