2018 Heritage Quick Review
Brakes & Susp, awesome.
Handling . . . Better than my 2000? Sure
Off the hook? NO! Is it lighter? Ok, a little. Like the diff
of a full tank or not. Weird too, it actually felt heavier in the front
end going around a corner. I spoke with another demo rider (Older Heritage
owner) & he said the same thing. Granted, my bars are lower & wider.
I DON'T like the motor. It was the 114. It was quick, but runs
out of steam real fast. But the noise. Tinny sounding, whirring,
weak exhaust. Sitting still, when you rev it up, it's not a smooth
as a B-motor. And the heat !!! OMG!!!
Geared too tall. At 70 in 6th, it's just loping. Maybe they did that so
it'll cruise own the road with the big boys.
I had the opportunity to ride a Switchback a month ago. As far as a FUN
motorcycle to ride, Hell I like it better. Just the vibes. No sweet spot. If you could smooth one down so it's like other older Dyna's I've ridden, it would be ****-on. But I was VERY confident on it. Like I could hit a corner at any speed and it would just track perfectly. And the wt diff was noticeable.
Neither the Switchback windshield or the Heritage was as good as my LRS.
Lots of turbulent air from underneath.
I decided 1/3 way into the ride, my next bike (or maybe even mine) WILL have a fairing.
Sorry, not so short.
