I just bought a Fat Bob today, I got a leftover 18 114 in grey. I saw a 19 in rawhide that was an amazing color. I think 107 or 114 doesn’t matter for riding and price isn’t that far apart but resale value it’s huge. I’m seeing a 2-3k spread on used ones with cycle trader. Plus the only grey is an 18 114. I think it’s cool they only carried that color one year. However it seems everyone on here has the grey one lol.

These new M8 engines run much cooler than the previous engines. I thought the same way about the 107 to 114 back to back test ride, seat of the pants no difference.
However once you go into a stage one, wow what a difference. Remember the 114 does come with ABS and a high flow air filter, all you need to get a stage 1 is the tuner and some slip-ons. I do believe you could sweet talk your local dealer into making it worth your while.....I truely believe the new frame is the winner on the softails.
Good luck

If there’s not that much difference wouldn’t the 107 run cooler.

“There’s no replacement for displacement”. Get the 114...

Stage II (torque cam) on my 114 made a big difference. Really woke it up.

I've been through Panhead to Shovelhead to Evo, TC and now an M8 (bone stock 107) - even got an 883 Iron in the mix as well. When I feel the need for speed I jump on my Suzuki Bandit 1250S and get it out of my system. The stock 107, even in my heavy Road Glide is just fine for me on a Harley. If/when I get out of the Sporty and maybe into a Low Rider or similar - it will probably have a 107 as well. Having ridden so many different bikes over the years, i just view Harleys a little differently. I can get speed and power in a whole separate motorcycle for not that terribly much more than some are [paying in delta from stock 107 to whatever they're running.

I say "more power to 'em" (no pun intended) ... run what trips your trigger but don't rule out a dedicated performance (import) bike when considering the cost of a stock 107 to a Stage ??? 114 or beyond.
