Default Taillight conversion help 2012 faboy

Hey guys. Looked around but could never find the exact answer I was looking for.

I changed out my rear fender for a dirty bird mullet fender and I can't pick a tailight that I want to do...

I started with a $30 eBay bobber led taillight license plate combo to move it over and off the rear fender because I like the clean look of a smooth rear fender. But now the LED board in the tail light is messing up. And I am ending up with a no running light in the rear.

So what I was wondering is if there is a way to convert my rear blinkers into (running/brake/blinkers). I've seen things on custom dynamics but I can't find something that says it will convert my rear blinkers to be able to do all 3 things... I'm willing to keep the license plate off to the side with its own light source.

I'm really just looking for ideas about what I could do to clean up the rear end. Any other ideas are welcome because I will soon have all winter to stir over this

But for now I need to figure out what is making my running light shut off intermittently while riding rendering me with no rear running light but my blinkers and brake light working.

I like your light/fender set up. Harley sells a run/brake/turn module that should convert your signals to what your talking about. I'm not aware of them not being able to handle the job, but sounds like TeaRunner has the skinny covered.

As for your current problem it sound like a bad wire/connection. Just have to try to chase it down staring at the fuse and work your way back.

Did a little digging because I may do this myself.

Harley conversion kit. Doesn't look like the sockets need to be changed as I assumed.

The only compatible Softail listed I can see is the Heritage. However, the Heritage also uses 1156 rear bulbs so the socket change probably isn't necessary. Question now is, do the other Softails have right connectors under the seat?

Trying to find someone else that's done it that wasn't a Heritage but haven't found one from 2009+ yet.

I think the Slim, Dyna Street Bob, and Sportster 48 all use some version of this setup stock. Wonder if they'd just plug and play.

I have heard that if you don't use the right (like stock) plug it can give you fits (no personal experience).

Dang that is a sweet looking fender...... that said I would be afraid of it dragging during corners.

That Is why I'm trying t find the simplest way of converting and getting rid of the bobber taillight and just using my rear turns as full running lights. I can figure out a way of lighting my plate up. Just don't want issues and want t clean up the rear.

And the fender doesn't scrape unless I have the airride too low for the conditions.

Hate to beat a dead horse but I see this says it's an auxiliary light setup. Does that mean that I will still have to run a taillight or could I completely get rid of the taillight setup and just use my 2 blinkers as running lights??? Sorry for all the questions but electrical is not my strong suit
