01 Fatboy transmission
Hey guys,
I have a 2001 Fatboy. When riding the bike hard, twice it has come out of gear, I upshift and its good and keeps going. Once shifting from first to second, I felt it go into gear but it was like it was in neutral, shifted again and it was good.
when cruising, I can upshift fine through all the gears, but when downshifting even in 6th gear it can feel like it's in first and won't go down unless I hit the shifter fast and hard.
the bike is a 01 Fatboy. 6 speed tranny swap done by indie shop by previous owner. Bike shifted good for him, (a friend of mine) and was good for me at first.
bike has 17k miles on it, tranny has about 2k miles on it.
where should I begin trying to determine the cause and how to fix it?
