Thought I'd post pictures here occasionally in case anyone cares to offer input or opinions.
I drilled some holes in the lower muffler heat shields and put some decorative brass behind the holes for some pop. Took the front light off and the nacelle/hardware and will be replacing it with a large brass lantern I found online. Since it's a lantern, not a headlight, I'll have to rework it but I think it'll work and it will be pretty awsome looking if I can make it work. See pic below. It's pretty big. Diameter is 9.5"
Wrapped the front frame with some copper strips I found at Lowes. Not sure yet if I'll keep this, but if do I'll be wrapping the rest of the frame with it as well.
Rear fender has been temporarily removed for some finish coating.
Remember, it's a work in progress.
Thanks for looking. Comments welcome.
Brass? sooooo ... you're going for steampunk, not just "Old Harley".
I was gonna suggest having a look at the H-D they used in that Indiana Jones Crystal Skull movie. They modified a Twin Cam Softail Springer to look like a bike from the 40's/50's...
Most definitely. Been looking at a lot of steampunk and rat bikes. Going for some combination of the two I think. These things take a life of their own after a while and you just kind of follow it.
