im having a problem with trying to get my 94 softail to turn over.it kicks out and engages flywheel, but it sounds like it' going to far and sounds like it' stripping. And then hangs up on flywheel. There' s you tube video that' shows exactly what it doing. Look up harley jackshaft problems. Its a 44 second video called (kopie von harley softail starter jackshaft problem). But I can' find anybody with an answer to the problem.

What you are describing sounds like a bad starter clutch.
Remove the outer primary cover and inspect the pinion gear and the ring gear.
If they are ok, remove the starter, disassemble it and replace the starter clutch.
You can get a replacement starter clutch from All ***** for much less than a part from the dealer.
You do not need to replace the entire starter, if you don`t want to dig into the starter, a starter repair shop will replace the starter clutch for a reasonable price.
