I did a lot of reading on the Wrangler forum about LED lights, they have WAY more experience testing different stuff than the people here.

There have been many copies of the original and newer JW design and with and without halos. Sunpie was not one of the better quality units as I recall but LED lights is a hugely subjective discussion.

I bought one of these from the Factory before anyone started putting their stickers on the box. The model was Tuff Plus A0101B, try a search for A0101B LED light

The headlight throws a beam, the ring is stationary in an area closer to you than the beam. JM@C
Got the dinero, go for it.

Nothing beats the VisionX/TruBeam with the matching passing lamps-your bike will be lit up like a UFO! The halos are cool-looking and very noticeable to approaching drivers (providing they're not staring at their phones).

I have the Hogworkz halo led. The halo is a daytime running light but the night driving with this led is unbelievable. It lights up even the sides of the road. Here in NC there are no streetlights in general, I mean it gets pitch dark.
I don't have to watch my speed in the pitch black as I cannot out run this headlight, I do watch the speed because of the critters that roam around. This led throws enough light out to the side that I can see them 20' back from the road.
It's changed my whole outlook about night riding.

I just ordered the Hogsworkz Halomaker headlight + passing lamps for my 2013 TriGlide. I read lots of great reviews of them. Their cost ($400 for the 3 lights) is halfway between Custom Dynamics or VisionX and the chinese knock-offs on eBay or Amazon.

I very much doubt the Hogsworkx (as an example and there are plenty of others) is anything other than one of those "knock-offs" and someone called Hog something is doing the importing and sticking their label on it. (that does, or may, help with warranty returns, but is it worth the extra bucks to importing your own, your choice)

Actually the Chinese make some bloody good lighting, including their own designs.

Not saying the Hogsworkx isn't any good ...it depends what chips n drivers they put in there at whatever factory, but just a little pointer ...JW superseded that 2 plus 2 lamp design with a much improved 2 + 4 so go figure.

Halo on a Harley is possibly a waste of time given the main light is on all of time, but if you want the look.

Driving lamps add width to your field of view. Typically LEDs don't have a very good spread ...although some designs definitely do better than others

Most LED, including a drop in replacement H4 LED bulb are much better than stock. You really need pictures to see any difference between them ...I think there are a few comparatives knocking around that include the Vision for example.

That Wrangler forum have stacks of pictures of this n that and worth a browse just to see what kind of differences are out there.

EDIT: By the way, I live in the pitch black countryside. Again just as an example, the one I got gave enough light on LOW that I didn't always bother using HI, but that's just my opinion obviously.
I found my original thread with some not especially useful pictures, but it did show just how wide the beam was compared to stock anyway

Halo really won't make that much difference in "forward" light on the road, but if it's a different color than white, and coupled with other LED lighting, it may make you more visible to cagers, but it probably won't keep you from getting in an accident. The main thing to look for in lighting for headlights/spotlights is the reflector, as that will make all the difference in whether it lights up just the road like it was in the daytime or if it lights up everything at about half the brightness. A truly "focussed" beam headlight, whether LED or otherwise, is probably what you really want, so that the majority of the "light" is on the road, rather than all over the place. Changing out just the "bulb" will most likely NOT accomplish this, as it's using the same "reflector". The "daymakers" are not only different, but they are also very "focussed", with each LED adding more intense light directly where you need it. However, these are also usually quite a bit more expensive. Now, I've seen the daymakers going for as little as $25-30/"bulb" on eBay, but also have questions about how long they will last and how "bright" they will be in reality. I guess it really comes down to preference and finances.

I currently have LED bulbs (Paradise Lights) in my HD headlight and passing lamps. While they are a big improvement over the HD stock bulbs, I can't stand the constant humming of the fan behind the headlight bulb and the fact that it interferes with my stock FM radio.
This is why I decided to purchase the Hogworkz LED lamps. I also looked at VisionX and Custom Dynamics before pulling the trigger but +/- $700 for 3 lights was a little too much for my wallet.

Can't remember the sticker name on the box but I tried the ones with the big braided cables coming out the back for a heat sink, rather than getting one with a fan.
Splay out the braids and they press against the light bucket giving an even bigger heatsink. 2500lm, seemed to work ok but there was a slightly annoying ghost line right in the middle.

Reviving this old Hog Workz thread to say, I just got the Hog Wz head lite installed last nite and either I have something wrong[which I doubt but I have been know to screw up some pretty simple stuff] or there is no difference between Hi Beam and Low ?
With the bike in the garage pointing at the wall you can go Hi/Low and beam never moves.
