Obviously ones can be found but I find it rather perplexing that the Springers seem "rare" or just aren't made that often. I'm a rookie when it comes to anything HD but I'm trying to learn and this front end looks absolutely stunning. I can't imagine there's really any issues with the setup unless its just expensive to produce.
I feel that Springers are an acquired taste, and not often your first, second, third or ever something many HD riders purchase.
As such, low production numbers combined with Springer heads like me and alot of others here simply do not let them go frequently. They are not cheap to produce, don't compete with modern set ups, and HD is currently working on anti lock braking apparatus to work with the springer.
They are however an addiction. Captivating new, intermediate, and long term riders the world over. You will notice a few on here, some with one springer, some with 10! Beautiful machines.
The Eagle you listed above is pretty cool. I'm more of a less is more type of guy. GOOD luck on your journey.
I'm new to the Springer family... but glad I joined....
The springer front end requires a little more maintenance than a regular front end and the neck bearings have more stress on them (because of the design) than a standard front end. But if they are maintained properly, it's not a problem.
They certainly look good whether they are painted, chrome, on a Heritage/FL, or on a regular softail/FX.
While I was looking, I noticed that a lot of people are very proud of their Springers. I'm a fan, yet looked at several that I thought were way overpriced. It is also very hard to find many that are close to OEM. That means you have to try find one that's been customized to your liking..... I saw several that I really didn't like what was done to them...
It took 6 months, but in the end I was was extremely lucky... I found a 2001 with less than 10K miles, and all OEM except for the seat.... best of all, I got it for a reasonable price..... I was able to set it up as I like, and have the OEM parts in reserve...
So take your time, be patient, and wait for the one you really like.....
IN general the used Harley bike market sucks...bikes are bringing half or less of what they did just a few years ago.
Heritage and CVO springers are beating the odds and still selling for descent prices...I have seen low mileage EVO heritage springers with all the goodies sell for more than they did new.
That's a sharp bike. There was a custom gold one at a dealer several years ago and I almost bought it. It was beautiful, and the engine of the time was the 96", so that 110 CVO was awfully appealing.
To answer your question, I NEVER see that bike around by me. I can't imagine that they sold many of them. Once in a while I see a CVO Softail Convertible, but not that Springer.

Not sure if this is the answer that you might be looking for but I'll tell my 2 cents on it. My guess it might have something to do with production costs or maybe the popularity of the Springer, not really sure. One thing I can tell ya though. I bought my FXSTS new in 2005. I don't ride as often as I used to but I have a little over 112k on mine and I haven't had any issues what so ever with the springer forks. Also, if I had the money to spare, I wouldn't mind having another Springer in my garage to give some company to the one that I already have. You might say that I have a thing for Springers.
The bike you show is a little overpriced. I bought my '08 cvo springer last year with 2,500 miles with all the factory extras (gold key, cover, etc) for 15K. Original owner was terrified of the bike I think. Cost him 28K new. Then sold my '96 fxsts for what I paid. Try THAT with a Sportster or Streetglide! I NEVER have gone out riding on a springer and stopped somewhere without strangers coming up and telling me "What a beautiful machine". I mean it happens EVERY time! It's almost embarrassing. I don't ride like a maniac so like I've said before, at reasonable speeds it handles like a shwinn.
