Time for a rear tire on the softy. I drop my tire off and show up on the scoot. Hour later scoots ready and they tell me I need a belt adjustment.
In the back of my mind I'm like what? I've never run across such, thought that was part of it. Old days we pulled the tire and took it down and when we replaced it we adjusted the chain. That blew me away, the tech needed a work order that said adjust the belt?
Yes, I growled to myself all the way home. Do it myself now, poor customer service to me, but what do I know.
They couldn't adj is when they installed the wheel?????????
REALLY ??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like the dealers around here.
$125 to M/B a tire IF I BRING THEM THE WHEEL!!
NOT THE MOTORCYCLE !!! A WHEEL !!!
AND . . . That's if I buy the tire from them for $50
more than anywhere else !!!

Was there a charge for belt adjustment, in addition to the labor charge for removing and reinstalling the rear wheel?
Of course a belt adjustment is part of a rear wheel installation.
uh huh, imagine that. Not today it seems to be, wanted me to reschedule for a belt adjustment. Then he says knowing I do most of my own work, thats something you can do yourself.
Anyways, my experience today was an eye opener.

Think I would have told him I was riding out. If something happens because of the belt they messed with while replacing the tire, my lawyer will be the next professional I do business with.
I honestly can't recall ever adjusting the belt on mine in 24 years. I've watched the shop remove/install the wheel, and they never touch the adjusters either (it's not necessary to disturb the adjustment on my Softail to remove/install the rear wheel).
