Default Reach Seat yes, Grasshopper no.

[QUOTE=HeelDragger;17150643 ..... and will also probably install the Grasshopper backrest as well.[/QUOTE]
If you go with the Reach Seat, save your money and don't buy the Grasshopper backrest.
The Reach seat has a much thicker back area, thus moving you forward as desired. The backrest becomes useless because of this. If you lean back to use the backrest you can't (I know I can't) reach the Handlebars, even with them pulled back.
A backrest that would work with the Reach Seat would need to have a much larger offset to move it forward enough to allow the rider to use it.
I have already taken mine off.

Remember that you can generally "try before you buy"; go to a bigger Harley dealer and they may have that reduced-reach seat available for demo.

Resurrecting the post to see what are current options to lower M8 Heritage and find out if anyone did it and hope will share option.

Specially curious about lowering front end if there are easy ways to do it in 2020 as it was mentioned HD option to do that was quite costly on front.

Please share if you lower your bike and maybe post a pix?

I believe the '20 suspension is the same as the '18. I lowered my '18 Heritage using both of the rear and front H-D Low Profile kits. The rear is very easy to do so I did it myself. Thre front kit is relatively inexpensive, but not haveing all the tools and knowledge, I opted to have my dealer do the install, and yes the labor charges are quite high but, for me, worth it. I had them use the heavy oil which made a big difference in minimizing the front end dip/dive when braking.

Please note It is also important to install the shorter Jify Stand if you do both the rear and the front. The dealer did this for me also, so that added time to the job.

I call my Cherry a Heritage Deluxe as it is basically the same now as a Deluxe. I did not find handleling to be affected and because the bike is lowered both front and rear it is nearly impossible to notice the lowered stance in a profile view.

For comfort I installed pivoting pull back HB risers that moves the HB's up about 2" and back about 1 1/2" and I also use a H-D Reach seat to get me even a little lower to the ground.

Everything together made this short rider able to ride my Cherry much more comfortably.

Then I oped to upgrade to Big Sister and had to do everything all over .

So what height risers did you end up installing? 4”? Did you have to extend cables?

if possible still would like to see some pix if available. How much was labor for dealer job?

Yes they are called 4" risers and no, I did not have to extend any wires or cables. There was just enough wire length tucked up into the HB's to allow me to install the risers with out even disconnecting anything...PITA but doable.

I bought the mono shock, the front lowereing kit and the jiffy stand from the H-D online store (could have save some money if I had used Surdyke) and supplied the front kit and jiffy stand to the dealer to do the install along with my 1k service. If I remember correctly, including the service it was just over $600 all together, so you will need to do the math.

This Pic is from 9/18

This Pic from 8/19...lots of things added.

FWIW, I hated the OEM saddlebags from day one. I replaced them with saddlebags and tourbag from LeatherPro.

Awesome man I am really excited to learn you added 4” risers without changes in cables as this is something I want to do. Did you have to remove the tank to get extra length or they were more on handlabar side?

I was able not to remove the tank on my 2014 Slim hope same will happen on this 2018 Heritage.

with 1000 miles service 600$ sounds really reasonable for labor.

Thanks for sharing great looking ride.

Did not have to remove tank. Excess wire was up in HB. I know others have found theirs too short. Might want to check brfor attempting. If too short you should be able to get a extension. I was lucky.

I had my 06 Heritage lowered about 3 years ago using Progressive lowering kit for front and back. The bike handled like **** and rode like a Sherman tank. If I were to do it over again, I would use the deluxe fork springs and deluxe rear shocks.

06 is not M8 but thanks for input anyway.
