Trying to sell my bike , I've been offered $8000. as a trade-in towards a car from a dealer . I also have it in the local CL for $9500. ( room to move ) , I get offers from the local motorcycle experts , they're telling me it's only worth $6000. which they're willing to give me $5500 . Maybe it's me but I'd take it apart and sell the pieces before I sell it to one of these expert *********...but that's just me...
hard to tell its value to a buyer. older used softails dont have the demand like used touring bikes do. Not a lot of guys want them, especially if they're springers. Also depends on the time of year, right now in the middle of winter... not a lot of people even looking to buy a bike unless they get a good deal.

IMO the expert ********* are pretty close. Being wintertime and the used market has been pretty soft lately... yah $6K all day. In the spring you might squeeze $6.5 to $7K out of it.
Now or at least early February may be a good time to list a bike. Tax money will make it's way into buyers pockets really soon. If you don't have to have the money right now I think you'll get more money sometime into March. Good pics are key to get a potential buyers attention.
8 towards a trade in on a car is likely paper work numbers trick. The ones offering you 5 are looking to turn it.
If you must sell it and someone has over 6 in hand take it. As others have said wrong time of year.
Wait till bikes are moving in better weather it should bring you 7 right buyer maybe $7500.
Springer can surprise you if the right buyer sees it . There are some will to pay a bit more to get one. The key is the right buyer that really wants a Springer.
Bike looks great good luck.
Ya bro put the crackpipe down. The bike is 13-14 years old. That thing is worth 6K. Should have traded in to the car dealer when you had the chance. If you bought this bike as an investment, then I have cheap land in the Bay area to sell you

Interesting. The OP thinks his bike is worth more than people who actually deal with them everyday.
Never heard that before.
The exact value of anything is what 1 will pay and the other will accept at that moment in time.
I'm sure $8k offer for trade made you feel good, you did realize there was a $2.5K screwing waiting on the other end of that deal.
$9500 would be tough to get in my area, and we can ride pretty much year round.
If you're looking for top dollar, you'll probably need to wait til Spring. Even then, I think you'll need to take another look at your asking price.
