Aks 2014 Daytona Blue Slim
hows it going family. I have been a member of the forums for a while and customized my 883 sporty on here. I just traded it in for the bike I've been wanting since day one, a 2014 Softail Slim in Daytona Blue. I was searching for about a year but either they came in used with high milage or they were all overpriced at the dealership. Its winter here in Dallas and I thought to myself its time to treat myself. While online, I came across a used slim for an awesome price and crazy low mileage and the color got me! I slept on it for a few days, two weeks passed and the bike was still there. All the others were sold fast as I'm sure everyone wants black or or that denim green with the big ol' star on it. I'm a blue guy so this bike got my attention. I went in to just look at it in person one day and walked out with the paper work to a new bike in my hands lol. Got a good buy back on the sporty and the dealership came to pick up my old sporty and drop off the new slim at my house. I couldn't be happier. it rides perfectly and for someone of my stature 5'4" with a 28" inseam, I fit right into the bike with barely no problems. The bike came with a Vance & Hines air cleaner, 2-1 hi flow V&H pipes and a tune. Here is my thread as I do small things to make it mine and possibly big changes later in the future.
Future cosmetic Mods:
lower the rear 1-2" (kit ordered)
wider rear brake pedal (ordered)
Handlebar Grips
Daymaker
Frenched headlight trim ring visor gloss black

polishing chrome and aluminum back to shine
10" mini apes
powder coat all chrome and aluminum gloss black
low profile pop upgas cap and electric fuel gauge on tank
new and custom seat
Here is the old sporty 883 as she was when i traded her
the gong ring at HD in Allen tx
and the delivery of the slim to my house
bye bye sporty ( i reved the **** out of it one last time before putting it on the trailer )
and how she looks as of now. stay tuned for updates and thanks ahead for answering any questions i ask that may have been answered before. (i do alot of research so dont kill me if i cant find answers)

Your Sporty was pretty Bad ***!
As a Slim owner, I can tell you that you are going to LOVE that bike! Ride the **** out of it and enjoy every minute on it. FWIW, I'm a believer the Slim should come in only two colors-Black and Chrome, but I admit, yours looks great!
Wishing you many happy, safe miles.

Nice ride.....I have a 2015 slim in black...I followed your sportster build...you did a nice job...I like following a build where the owner does their own work an it's not just throwing the HD parts book at it. I'm sure you will do a nice job on the slim. I picked up a '15 with 8K on it for $12K last spring. I hated the stock seat so that was the first change. I went with V&H dual's DK customs air cleaner kit, FP3 tuner, 8" Z bars an Avon grips....I'm doing cams right now. I have a Switchback front wheel an eventually will get a matching rear an throw them on.
