I'm looking to put 19"(front) & 16" (rear) mag wheels on my 2002 fxst. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to do this and what the proper procedure is?
In a perfect scenario, I would want to take mag wheels from an fxd style bike and put them on my fxst. Right now , I have a 40 spoke 21 x 2.15 on the front and I hate the way it handles on long hauls. Any info is appreciated. If I left something out, just ask. Thanks
I don't think it'll be a problem if you find wheels from 2000 to around 2006....softail, sportster or dyna won't matter.....get either 3/4" or 1" axle...you have 3/4" axles an you can get 1" to 3/4 reducers....you may need different wheel spacers but that's easy....the 3 bikes I listed have similar font fork set ups....you can get 25 mm to 3/4" reducers too but I'd avoid 25 mm bearing wheels (even though my bike has them) I think the others last better.
