Finally pulled the trigger on an 05 Heritage, my local shop has a great deal on the detachable kit for the saddlebags & backrest. Looking for a couple pix from the rear to determine how far or if indeed they stick out. I like the idea of easy removal and a clean look, but don't want the bags to look out of place when on.

They will stick out, and for some reason I can't get over how they look. It's only two nuts to get the stock ones off and they sit nice and tight to the fender much cleaner look. And chances are you will leave them on all the time anyway.
