I ordered a set of 12's for my Heritage, unfortunaly they were about the same height as my stockers. So I had planned to go to 14's, now here's my problem, I'm a lil on the shorter side and every 14 I've looked at seems to be 35" wide or wider, I don't want to feel like a scarecrow sailing down the highway, just looking for something a bit shorter. Any thoughts Please.
I am a short guy and I find that 35-37 inches wide is comfortable. If you are looking for a narrow set of bars the wild 1 chubby outlawz are pretty narrow. Also the nyc choppers bars are only 32 inches wide.
So were the previous bars ape hangers also? Because if they are the same height, the wrist angle of the apes would be different? So did you install them or did you just notice that they were the same height when you received them?
I went off the Wild 1 sight for stock specs. 2005 FLSTCI http://www.wild1inc.com/stock.html
The site claims my rise was only 7" but when I installed the new 12's they fell into the same hand position as the stockers, but when I asked PO if the bars were ever changed he said no. It just didn't seem right were the 12's would've been the same height. I did 12s on my Dyna and the feel was night and day, put me exactly where I wanted to. I liked the look of the 1.25 bars but didn't like where they were.
I will say the Nash Gimps look nice and keep the width manageable for my small frame.
Thanks for input.

I had some 14" apes from Drag Specialties on my '13 Slim (which also had a reach seat). I loved them. They looked great and were comfortable for short and long distance rides. For reference, I'm 5'6" with a 30" inseam.
