Default I have decided I need apes.

Now for the big question size and brand. Any suggestions? I was thinking Carlini Evil Ape 12", KST Kustoms 1 1/4 Outlaw or Wild 1 CHUBBY 12" REAPER. Any photos or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can say this about KST, the quality of the work is great. I stopped by the shop just after they closed (I was on a road trip and passing by). The foreman open the doors and walked me around the shop for a good hour showing me their processes and their bars. Let me sit on a few bikes in the shop that had bars on them to see how thy feel. He couldn't take an order himself but gave me the owners contact info.....sadly to say I emailed him three times and called twice with no response. So on the floor workers, great service, owner-questionable. For the price and quality of product I would still recommend them.

My only advice would be to take note of the width of the bars before purchasing apes. Some apes come way too wide for my liking. The Burly brand apes I have on my bike now are 33" wide I believe, which is still too wide for me. Throw a tape measure on your current bars to see how wide or narrow you want your new bars to be.

KST is very hard to get in touch with, but worth it in my eyes. Bought a set of mayhem bagger bars for my Street Glide and will be getting the 16" Mayhem bars for my Wide glide, but they are making them with the same pull back as the SG for me. that way the bars are both the same on both bikes.

Quality is awesome!

+1! Really good advice!

I have used the Burly brand apes on a Sportster I had and they were very good quality and I did like them. Believe they were 12" and 32.5 wide.

I'm rolling on Wild 1 Chubbys. 10 in, 36" wide. They are JUST a bit too wide for me. And let me tell you, i'm 5'9" with SHORT *** arms. I might actually downgrade to the 8.5 in apes which are 35" wide. Width definitely comes into play for sure. I WILL say this though, I had my stock bars on this before these, which were 29" wide. It was awful. It made the front end feel like it was ten times heavier. The width of these apes, while probably too wide for me, makes the weight of the front end SO much lighter, obviously because of the leverage. Definitely sit on a few bikes and see what feels nice to you in terms of apes. If you can.

The OTHER thing I will say, i'd MUCH RATHER the apes be too wide, than too narrow like my stock buckhorn bars were. MAN those things were awful. Not sure why Harley thought those bars would fit a wide range of riders. i'm NOT a large dude, and they made my neck ache cuz they were so narrow. Bullocks!

As promised, bars are finally on! Just got back from downrange Monday, so had quite a delay in processing. PITA to wire btw... We won't even get into that one..
I'm 6"0 and the bars are perfect height for me. I like the width as well. Did about 200 mile loop and no complaints. Cables are a little tight, but ok and not restricted. ..Bars are 12" reapers
