I'm on the fence about whether I should go with 16 in. RSD apes or mini apes. I really like the look of the 16's, but not sure if they will look too wide for my front end. Anyone running either of these. Any input is appreciated.
I just bought myself some 17" apes from Todds for my 08 Super Glide, which are basically the same bars as the RSD's without the gussets. Mine measure 37" wide and if I remember correctly (I was considering the RSD's for a while too) those measure 36.5" wide, so LITERALLY almost the exact same bars.
I didn't install them completely yet but I took my stock bars off and put the new ones on and DAMN they look GOOOOOOOOD.
So what exactly do you mean by "too wide"? My only concern of width was at the base of the bars... I didn't want the bottom of the bars bars to be wider than the forks, but these lined up perfectly.
If I remember to do so, I'll snap a picture or two when I get home from work so you can get an idea of what they might look like on your bike, which should also be very similar to mine.
I got the 17in todd cycle ones too....the width is perfect imho. Very similiar to the rsd. I think if you choose to go that route you will be very happy....
