I recently bought a 2014 HD Fatboy Lo this is my first Harley, always rode Enduros up till now. The one I bought is stock everything and I want to start customizing it soon. I have been having a block when it comes to handlebars and windshield right now and I wanted some ideas. I know I want to sit further back in the seat so I will need pullback risers or handlebars that achieve the same effect. Any and all ideas are welcome.
OP, you looking for more cosmetic changes or performance? On my Lo, I did the stage 1 upgrade, which is slip on pipes, air cleaner, and tuner. I also added a WindVest shield and some HD softail locking bags. It all depends on what you want to achieve.
I have lots of ideas for performance. Definitely doing the stage 1 kit soon. Right now Im just looking for help with cosmetic ideas. I have the intake, exhaust and fuelpak picked out. Eventually I want to go blacked out on all parts.
Recently I came out and found my windscreen had been driven over by one of my roommates so Im making them buy me a new one. I didnt like the factory one so I want to upgrade the handlebars with a new windshield.
Those look like the bars on my 06 FatBoy and I am happy with them. They look good and feel good to me.
I have cut the little duck tail off both my front and rear fenders and am changing the color from blue.

Really depends what direction you want to go. Are you thinking street brawler or a classy classic cruiser?
Most Lo owners go brawler. I'm going blacked out classy cruiser. That's a world of different parts between the two visions. You can also go Bobber, another world of difference. I've seen a few here take perfectly sweet softails and turn them into rat bikes.
Handlebars, for instance, I have the same complaints about reach. Street slammers are more brawler. I'll probably go with a 1-1/4" version of Heritage bars or old school flared out beach bars. I rarely, hear heritage owners complain about the ergonomics of their bars.
What's the vision you see for it?
