During retuning and once the VCI is programmed to collect data does the bike run on the last calibrated map? Once the buffer is full the light blinks rapidly but I am unable to switch off the SEPST by pressing the button and can only do so after switching off the engine after the ride. Can anyone with experience tell me whether this is normal. However it downloaded the new data and I reprogammed the bike with the new map when I connected the VCI with the laptop.
During retuning/data gathering, the bike runs horribly. From what I gather, it is put into a special data-gathering mode, and does not use the prior calibrations necessarily. I just did a couple of Smart Tune sessions and experienced the same thing as you -- once the buffer's full, the button won't do anything. I had to turn the bike off, but apparently the tuner retains its full buffer of data and when connected to the computer, the computer knew to load the data out of the tuner. So it all seemed to work.
I think the button might work if you didn't fill the entire buffer up, but I ran it full both sessions.
I just did a Stage 1, the bike is running great but haven't done an auto tune session yet.
This info you guys have will help me out though , I would of panicked ha ha.
THX guys.
The only catch is that the instructions say that you can switch off and turn it on multiple times. But they dont state that once the buffer is full then the button is out of action. I have also installed the heavy breather and I am finding it difficult to use the rear brake since the heavy breather makes contact between my knee and ankle. Has anyone found this to be an issue and how has it been addressed? Thanks Fat Bob 2018 for the information and Bad Cooky - You are Welcome

Kochy I followed some instructions from a 2013 post for my download and the actual procedure was nothing like it, the boot screen and the VIN download to the Lap top was totally different , then the prompts to go to the download were different but it all worked out very well .
I used a rebooted race tuner though so that might of been some of it. What I'm suggesting is some of the parameters may have changed over time and been updated but the outcomes are the same.
I used this how to.https://www.hdforums.com.au/Thread/620796/1 for a race tuner

Yes Thanks. You are right things must have changed since it is 2018 but SE could have put in some more clarity in their instructions. For people like me I have to depend on inputs from the forum since neither the dealer nor end users here are familiar with SEPST and its functioning.

That's right you're in South East India aren't you ,good luck with that man ha ha.lol
You got it done though right ?
Here is a good page https://www.hdforums.com/forum/the-dyno-room-190/ I bumped up everything I needed before I did my Stage 1 it shouldn't be too far down the page if you need more info.
Cheers man.
Thats right. I got it done following the forum and YouTube videos by Average Joe Antics. I am located where you have mentioned and Thanks for the links. The next problem to resolve is the rear brake with the heavy breather coming in the way. I am looking at longer foot pegs for e.g. Fat Boy and a larger brake pedal cover to mitigate this issue. Its painful while driving long distances.
I don't know what to tell you on the A/C. I've got the stock Ventilator that comes on the 114, and I find it annoying to keep bashing my knee into it. And that's about the most compact, slim, un-obtrusive A/C they make. I'm sure the Heavy Breather would be a lot more intrusive.
You could try going to a Ventilator, I'm sure it'd be better. I'd like to find something that's even slimmer than the Ventilator, although I don't know if that's possible. The other thing is that with the forward pegs, your leg absolutely has to go across where the A/C sits. With mid-mounts maybe it'd be a different situation?
I used this https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...ow-air-cleaner and it's a good bit of kit ,nowhere near my leg.
Just went for my first proper spin with the Stage 1 and yea it's getting air in and out now not wheezing ha ha.
Cheers.
