2004 Deuce Wheel Swap
I have searched this topic and found decent information but i am making this thread just to confirm or deny what would work.
I am trying to find a set of wheels for my deuce, it has 3/4 axles. I would like to go either get 18 front and rear (would buy new for this route) or possibly 19 front / 16 rear. I like the look of the 9 & 13 spoke OEM mag wheels.
I have found a few sets of them on eBay from older bikes, so will they work as long as they have 3/4 bearings? What else is there to worry about? This is my first time swapping wheels on a bike so i am a bit of a newb on the topic.
I should also add that i have access to a state of the art machine shop and free labor. So if i need to have spacers or anything made it should be no problem.
Thanks for any help guys.

(20mm 2006 Night Train belt)
Have not confirmed this but was told they come with a 1/4 to1/2" WIDER swingarm.
Looking for a "donor" swingarm to modify for a 20" tire/wheel in the back
Should have measured the width while I was changing the rear belt.
Some shops say they are all the same. Others say they are wider???
The wheels fit all Softails but our spacers are different? Maybe the Night trains and other models that came with a 200 have a wider swingarm.
I would not mess with "used" and "sure it will fit" unless you can verify everything your self.
Not sure how much help that was?

1" and 3/4" bearings are a straight swap. But if you go to a 25mm bearing wheel as someone said above you wheel need to use a reducer.
The wheel I bought had the 25mm so I used the reducer, bolted on the rotor and pulley, and was able to reuse the spacers.
The only decision I have yet to make is if I am going to pull and replace the 25mm bearings and change the crush tube to the 3/4 tube out of the original wheel. Im not sure if it is that big a deal. Maybe someone else has that answer.

What year street bob was your wheel from? This sounds like a pretty good option versus buying a new wheel.
I took a chance on one with 25mm bearings, I paid $100 of an eBay auction, so it was worth the risk. Everything else was $200 and up. I just patiently waited and watched eBay and the forum here till I found one at the right price.
If I get a chance later, I will find a part number and send it your way if you want.
Also, maybe a set of dyna mags may fit if that was the look you are after, I just wanted spokes front and rear.
Thanks!

I have owned three Deuces, 2001,2003, and now a 2005. Love my Deuce. Each of my Deuces I have done the 200/55/17 rear tire. I didn't want to spend $1,500 to $2,500 for the kit, SO! I took the outer and inner primary covers off. Removed clutch basket and belt along with rear wheel. Removed swing arm and took it to a weld shop and explained I needed the swing arm expanded 3/4 of an inch on the pulley side. So, they cut the swing arm and offset it and welded it back together, ground it along with polishing it. I took it then and had it powder coated. the total on the swing arm was $100. I looked on Craigs list and found a new take off from a 2010 Fat Boy rear wheel, pulley, and rotor. The wheel was a 6" wide with the Dunlop 200/55/17 tire. I hand polished the wheel and pulley to a mirror finish. (By the way I payed $100 for the wheel combination) I took the rotor off and sanded it with 220 then with 400. Bought the polishing compound sticks from Home Depot along with purchasing 4" felt pads on Ebay for my grinder and achieved a mirror finish. I bought a new 20mm 133 tooth Harley (GATES) belt. The wheel had 1" bearings so I got on Ebay and found the 1" to 3/4" reducer bushings. (A 1" axle won't work on the stock swing arm.) Now in order for the tire to work with fender you have to take the struts off, In doing so you will find on the inside of the fender has a bracket on each side for hard bag mounting. Remove and throw away. Now the four bolts holding the fender on, reverse these and reinstall. Make sure wheel pulley and rotor are torqued. Put struts back on. I purchase a used 13" x 3/4" axle Ebay. Install new belt to transmission out put pulley. Reassemble clutch, chain, tension-er, inner and outer primary covers, gaskets and torque. I installed the modified swing arm. I had to measure and cut new spacers so the tire was exactly in the center of the fender and swing arm. Normally the Deuce takes a 132 tooth belt. I installed the 133 so the tire would set back more to fill the gap on the fender. I also used longer wheel adjustment bolts to achieve the tire set back. I gone through this process on three Deuces, and it looks BAD ***!!! I spent around $600 for these results. I hope this may help someone achieve the same.
