Raining and high winds today, so I thought I’d share latest version of my ‘01 Fatboy. Bike got hit about 6 months ago parked outside my house, so I took the insurance money, found a lot of good deals, and was able to get a lot of extra work done.

Mods included:
- Black/chrome Turbine wheels (these turned out even nicer than I hoped)
- 21” front wheel and Klockwerks Thickster fender (got a Touring model fender by mistake, so I had to drill new holes and cut some extra metal beneath the mounts)
- All new black denim paint with my favorite HD tank logo
- Had most of the chrome covers PC’d and oil tank painted to match tins. Swingarm PC’d to fix some scrapes from accident. Rear brake bracket PC’d and fender struts PC’d.
- Black floorboards and PC’d forward controls nice gloss black
- New black HD freight train nacelle and trim ring. PC’d beer cans on upper forks
- Alloy Art LED front turn signals that mount in side of nacelle (cleans up front forks)
- New black dash and flush mount gas cap/LED gauge
- Monster 16” apes
- New black hand controls, black cables, and Avon gel grips
- Had leaking form seals before accident, so I upgraded to Progressive monotube front end
- DNA Super Spoke rotors and pulley (match the Turbine wheels pretty nice)
- Misc black items - cheap horn, oil filter, etc
- new higher flow stainless steel air filter that does not require oiling
- new Bassani Road Rage exhaust with black end cap
- Dyno tuned and ready to ride after long wait!

One thing I I wanted to share. After Dyno, I stopped to eat some dinner and was looking bike over in back of truck when I saw all my belt pulley bolts had backed out about 1/2”. I had read other stories of this problem with DNA pulley. I stopped at HD dealer and figured I would pick up some pulley bolts. Stock bolts for a Fatboy were about 1/2” longer than the DNA bolts. Then i asked to see the Breakout bolts since I installed breakout wheels and they were about 1” longer. I bought those and installed with red thread locker- hopefully no more issues.

last thing I may do is get some gloss black rocker top overs and install. I have a leaking intake so need to pull tank and install new seals, so I may do this at same time. Want to keep the chrome lowers for some contrast.

Loving the new look and 21” wheel on the Fatboy. Oh yeah, I already had 3 degree trees on bike previously - I know it’s not required for 21” wheel. Couple pics before and after:

I like it, but then again I grew up in TX. I see a lot of time and $$$. You turn the wrenches?

Nice 01 FatBoy, that 21" looks good up front.

I took it to a Indy up in austin for this work. It was covered under insurance, so I had them do it. I am not a painter or powdercoater, so I could only do so much. Plus, I have never pulled oil tank, so I figured just let the shop do it. Only things I did was lower new front fender and mount, bleed rear brakes, fixed stripped out threads on front fork for nacelle/turn signal, replaced primary cover, and installed new air cleaner mount bracket. It was hard having someone else do the work - no one else wants to work on your bike on the same schedule you would do it yourself.

Thanks. I was able to make many of the changes I have always wanted, but just realized how many forum members probably don’t like the style:
- Apes
- Denim paint (black on top of that)
- Blacked out most of chrome

Anyone find a black trim ring for the dash gauge?
