Has anyone revalved the stock suspension or gone to something like an an Ohlins or Progressives yet ? Or got benefit from a change of fork oil or pre-load adjusters?
My 18 is by far and away the best ride and handling HD I've owned but I have a bad back(Spondlylolisthesus) , so yea I ride then I suffer for a week or two, then next time I have mobility rinse and repeat sorta thing , trying to alleviate some of the down time .
Change the seat. They make a few that would help relieve stress on your back.
I'm trying to work out a floating seat solution like a suspended single seat you see so often but with the stock seat.Lift the stocker an inch or two on a material that will help cushion with some give in it , won't need forwards and maybe get boards to move my feet about a little to alleviate my left legs sciatica .These https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/...y-softail-2018
My back has been like this for nearly 2 decades and the seat "fit" is the most important pain reducer for me , I know instantly if it'll work or not to alleviate discomfort..If I ride or mow my lawn or go to the shops I can be out of the game for up to two weeks , sometimes more , that's life and I'm OK with that, it's how it is. I get to ride say 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour every 10 days to two weeks or so sometimes a little more or less and for me that's my freedom , that's my identity and I'm good with that.Just to be able to shuffle off and go sit on it for 5 minutes and think of the old days is a cool moment for me.
NO SYMPATHY POSTS PLZ , hate that stuff.
Cheers.

Don,t know what your back problem is but my history of many decades of back pain led me to finally see a neurosurgeon rather than an orthopedic specialist which resulted in not perfection but very much improvement. Pain is in the nerves which come from the brain and down your spine thus the neuro specialist. Good luck.
has anyone changed out the fork oil to heavier grade? I would like to lessen the brake dive. Also, will the 49mm RSD fork adjusters that work on the Dynas also work on the softails? I would assume so, but dont want to take it off my Dyna with out confirmation.
I love the rear end mono shock, but think the front end needs help.

Yes, they should... the same OEM fork caps are used on both
