That's the best looking oil cooler I've seen. Where is it from?
It came from wimmer machine. http://www.wimmermachine.com/1.html I got everything from the Jagg offset adapter, lines, and cooler.

Underneath the filter are two 1/8" copper pipes. One with a T in it. It is in the return from the cooler and is where I mounted the temp sensor. They also provide some increased length for the braided lines.

It worked out pretty good. I am gonna do the 15k in a couple of days. Waiting on the filter. I'll take some picts of everything and post it. I'll put the drawing of the bracket up as well. I have had a few other inquiries.

They are redoing their website. You might not get all of the pictures. They have two sizes of billet. This is the smaller one. It is suppose to mount on the downtube of the frame. I wanted it where you see it so I remade the bracket.

They do know their stuff. They also make some wicked intake manfolds.

Jagg makes good stuff. And from what I'm told they make the coolers for Harley as well. The HD Cooler I have has the thermostat built in and activates at 185 degrees.

I put the HD cooler on my NT.. just for good measure~ I didn't have a temp gauge before install, but after running around all day in 90(+) degree weather this weekend... I checked my digi-gauge when I got home and it was reading the temp at 215*~ I, personally, didn't like the way the stealership had mounted it~ They pretty much had it sitting on the v-reg with clamps holding to the frame~ I remounted it with some home fabbed brackets that bolt to the cross member at the top front of the frame~ Can't really see the bracket in the pic.. unless you look hard~I'm in agreement with most about the insurance of it~ Running in 90(+) weather here in Florida, you need a little piece of mind.. and every little bit helps... exterior oil lines or not~

I have a 07 FXSTC and mine got as hot as 240 and let me tell you that is hot. i do not like it at all. i just ordered a cooler that fits on the down tube and should be here in a week or so from custom chrome. it is running me about $210. all it is is a round tube that bolts on the frame like the turn singal relocators that i have on my bike. they tell me in the book that it should drop about 20 degs. i will let u know what it does when i get it on the bike. as well as a picture

To Cool or Not to cool, That IS the question. I asked about an oil cooler for my '06 Heritage when I bought it in Aug. 05, and was told I didn't need it, but they would be glad to install one if I insisted. I didn't! Three weeks later, just after my break in service, (I ride a lot), My girlfriendand I headed to Washington, D.C. from Chattanooga via the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a great ride up, but we got caught in a DC traffic jam headed back on a 90 deg. day. The dip stick temp. gauge got to 275. Not only was the motor cooking, it was cooking us too, especially my right thigh. I immeadiately changed to HD Syn 3 and I then began to monitor the oil temp at different speeds and air temps. Generally, running 70 mph on the interstate, 95 deg. day, oil temp ran 250. At my 20,000 mile check-up last week, I changed to Amsoil 20w-50 Syn. At 70 mph @ 97 deg day, oil temp never went above 225, much better, but still not good enough.
I have search almost every article I can find on the internet about oil coolers, (my daughters claim I suffer from OCD), I have decided the way to go is a "highway bar/crash bar" oil cooler. Several articles, on this forum discuss this style with photos.
Anyway, the factory bars are vacuum sealed at the factory to keep out moisture. Just drill two 11/32" holes in each side of the bottom mounting plate, one for a drain and one for the oil line hook-up, Install a JAGG Oil filter Adapter, JP Cycles '07, pg 959, $149.95, (get the one WITH the thermostat)sandwich it between the case and filter, add the oil lines and presto, cheap oil cooler. This cooler is always 10% open and begins to open more at 180 deg. It is full open at 190 deg. It keeps the oil temp about 195 to 200, no matter what the conditions. One of the posts here says you can still touch the inlet side, but it is warm. However, the return side is cool to the touch. We will see, as I plan to add one before Aug. 1. I have three 1 week trips in Aug and Sept.

Where did you get the oil lines and clamps? They make the cooler.

Default capacity

I gotta wonder why ya'll are wanting coolers? I live in the Texas Blast furnace and even in stop and go traffic on 95 degree days mines never went over 225. I do run synthetic oil.Of course you feel its hot, the engines right by your legs what did you expect? You have sort of an aircooler on the Softail with the external Oil tank and Lines. I see all this talk about 07's running hot but Ive seen NO EVIDENCE yet. I know 2 others w/07 softails and nobodys has gotten over 230 . But If buying one will make you feel better thats all that matters.

I am looking at maybe getting one. I was disheartened when I learned the oil CAPACITY of the softails. This would add a little more too? I run mine like a tour bike should. Lotsa miles.. I am wondering if I tour on it, if I should have a bigger capacity, cooler oil etc. getting ready now for a 5000 plus trip come early march! can't wait to get outa this snow!!!

so any ideas on capacity upgrade?

That's an old thread, but I can tell you that mine has hit 300 on the digital guage on a really hot day in heavy traffic when I was living in Southern California. I changed over to Mobil 1 synthetic, and then added the oil cooler, and they both really helped alot. Of course, the cooler is only really effective when air is passing through it, so does little to help when you're in stop and stop traffic.

As far as capacity, I don't believe it adds much because you only have the hoses and very small veins, but it can't hurt.

I'm glad I put mine on... I needed all the help I could get.

I have the Harley one with the thermostat on my 05. I ran the Hoka Hey right after I put it on and ran it hard. It consistently ran about 20 degrees cooler then it did prior to putting it on. I'm not home or I'd put up a pic of the mounting.
