[quote=Soft06;1805232]Mine is an 06, but should meet the criteria you ask for. I have taken several trips to the deserts here in California on 95-100 degree days and the temp on my dip stick thermometer never rose higher than 230 degrees. The ONLY time it get's any hotter is if I get stuck in traffic. But once I get moving, the temperature drops back down quickly. I personally am of the opinion that an oil cooler is just good insurance, and to me, peace of mind.
+1
Using MoCo Oil Cooler. Also So Cal and across the deserts at 115F+ ambient temperatures I've never seen anything north of 245F Oil temperature. Outside of extreme desert, I usually see 190F - 210F with the cooler where-as I regularly saw 255F+ without the cooler. Not sure what oil temperatures have been at with a 115F ambient without the Oil Cooler.

My 07 Heritage with the SE pipes ran down the hi-way at 240 on 95 degree days.
I put V&H long shots, with a new fuel mgmt. system and Amsoil, now it runs down the hi-way at 225, so I might be getting an oil cooler also.
