No that didn't work. I tried mounting the crash bar on while the seat was in place. It interfered so I removed the seat and mounted the crash bar thinking the opposite. Still no luck. The two in the top picture seem to have thinner crash bars. I bought this one off of a guy who had it on his 2003 Heritage and then converted the Heritage to a trike. Perhaps the Heritage and Deluxe use different part #'s? If so this may be the reason. The lower picture though, seems to use the thicker crash bars. It's hard to tell from the picture if the mounting tabs are still in place or modified somehow. It'd work out nice if I could figure out a way to bend the tabs 90 degrees outwards and still have the holes line up.
I am stumped. The part number I quoted above should fit the Deluxe, according to HD. You might have a different part number. Do you have the instruction sheet?
Ok Suspect, I see the grash bar and the seat squeezed into place. I can't make out what is happening with the mounting tab for the rail. Is it modified or bent up somehow?
