Default 2007 Fatboy stalls when at idle

I have a 2007 Fatboy that once in a while will shut down when at a light and the clutch is pulled in. If I give it just a little throttle it will stay running. This only happens once in a great while but when it does it’s a real problem. It will also shut down if I’m riding and pull the clutch in long enough for the rpms to drop to idle. I’ve cleaned the IAC and replaced the crank position sensor so far. Another note is if I shut the ignition off and restart the bike it will usually correct itself.

Any my suggestions are appreciated.

I'm no mechanic, but what are your idle RPM's? Have you checked that value against the correct baseline for your model? My initial thought is that your idle is simply too low. Can it be adjusted upwards? A higher idle would be the same as giving it some throttle, obviously, but removes the manual necessity of doing so.

Do you have any sort of tuner on your bike. Some tuners require an initializing process for the IAC whenever you remove power from the bike, like after a battery change.

Idle is set to spec. I do have a fuelpak on it but weird part is 95% of the time it’s fine no stalling.

I would do a throttle body cleaning, When I service my K&N I block the throttle butterfly open with the big allen wrench used for air cleaner removal, and clean out the intake real well with throttle body cleaner. I block it open for ease of access and to let the cleaner evaporate. I figure its worth a try and inexpensive maintenance. Good luck, Ride safe.

That sounds very similar to my recent experience. 2003 FLSTFI. Random stalling, low rpm at stops, sputtering, etc. 3 weeks of pulling my hair out, figuring what it was. After cleaning the T.B., replacing almost every sensor and the ignition switch, it turned out to be the engine temperature sensor. P/N 32446-99
