i have a 07 fxst and was looking for pipes for it ,i read that v-h has a fuel pakthat with there pipes you just punch in some code and your bike it tuned ... has anyone ever used the fuel pak to tune there bike ??? is it easy to do ?? any problems with it ?? thanks in advance .ozzy
I picked up the vh fuel about two weeks ago, the installation is very simple and the instructions are easy to follow. The engine has become very responsive and I have not seen any adverse effects, other than this damn smile on my face that will not go away.
I have a Fuel Pak and it works great with V&H pipes. The only down side to it is if you decide to make other improvements later on you will probably have to go with Sert or PCIII. You will have to install a high flow air cleaner if you use the Fuel Pak.
Have the Fuel Pak for my 07 Fat Boy. Not the greatest. I have the Big Radius pipes. There is a little popping and slight sputter on decel. Make sure you change mode 23 from 16 t0 50 if you get it. It will sound a lot better.
Hi Guys, had the same problem as drrandell1 popping on decel, I'mrunning the V&H bishot staggered with a kuryakyn pro hypercharger aircleaner, and was getting the popping and surging when crusing, so sold it and went with the Thunder Max.
I have V&H True Duals on my Heritage. I've ordered the Fuelpak and K&N but they haven't arrived yet. Got tired of waiting so I rode it yesterday. The sound is incredible. I don't have issues with popping on decel, but I do get a little gurgling noise. Hopefully the Fuelpak will correct it, but it doesn't bother me. I just didn't want to pay the Stealers $200+ to do a one time Stage 1 download - the same download no matter whether you put full exhaust or just slip-ons. IMO there doesn't seem to be enough "rigor" in that type of download; a one-size-fits-all is probably not the right option...for me.
But then again, you'll hear pros/cons, equally, on whether to just install the Fuelpak for V&H specific exhaust, or just go with the Stage 1 download from the Stealer. An equal number of folks will also swear, good and bad, by the PCIII or the SERT. Good luck, whatever your choice.
