Once you start looking toward bagger like RK or heritage, might as well go all the way and get a street glide or road glide???

As a guy that owned a 2019 Fatboy 114 having to replace the $300 each tires at 6k miles was the deal breaker for me. I can get 12 to 14k out of tires on my touring bike. If you are going to ride two up often then touring frame is the only way to go. There is more room for a passenger and room equals comfort.

Heritage...best of both worlds and waayyy better looking bike than anything out there...Especially a FB. Might as well buy a sporty. It was just as comfortable as my buddy's FB.
Altho the twin cam Heritage is waayyy better than the m8. Personally, I would buy a low mileage twin cam Heritage.
Even previous RK owners were dumping them in favor of a Heritage. There's several threads on this very subject if you do a search for RK vs. Heritage.

+1 on the Heritage for two up input. The FB is a bar hopper imho.

The FatBoy is perfect for your application. I bought mine new in 2007, and added a detachable windshield, detachable bags, Mustang wide touring seat, and a sissy bar/luggage rack. Wife and I rode a lot of trips together with some good friends, both day and overnight eras, and it worked great. I was able to set it up for two-up in maybe 15 minutes, or strip it down like my sig pic for solo hopping.

Good luck with your decision.

The OP wants to buy new from what I read, my suggestion was the Heritage for two up. The new fatboy is totally different today. I'd rather see him buy a bagger than a softail. His wife would appreciate it too...lulz

By the time you add all that to a FB you might as well buy a Heritage. Easier and cheaper to strip a Heritage down for solo riding like mine is than to add all that to a FB.

Solo mode...

He already had the fatboy and needed it for two up and bags. I understand, did a descent job from what I see. Heritage would be the choice if looking at new, no doubt.

You guys do realize this is a three year old thread and the OP has no doubt made his decision by now.
